My happy little accidents

This gallery brings together my oil paintings alongside earlier watercolour and gouache works, tracing an ongoing fascination with the human body. Working in oil using traditional Old Master glazing techniques, I build images through transparent layers of colour. A process that echoes the physical structure of the body itself, with skin layered over muscle, fascia, and bone.
My earlier work leaned heavily on narrative and symbolism, over time I found myself drawn away from storytelling and toward sustained observation. I am endlessly in awe of human anatomy and the quiet intelligence with which the body functions. Through repetition, abstraction, and the fragmentation of form, these works study the body not as an ideal, but as a resilient, living system.
This practice has also helped reshape my own relationship with my body, honouring its ability to endure, adapt, and keep us alive even in the face of neglect or self criticism.
